In addition to flying, a stack of TNT grenades were given to each online Dominican Player. Later, maxim gattling guns were given in place of TNT. Initial results with TNT carpet bombing were not effective against Cuban forces and headway was not made into the defense of Santo Domingo until Maxim guns were given. This update to Dominican arsenals allowed for the repelling of the Cuban assault on the northern end of the Santo Domingo node and resulted in the complete wipe of Cuban forces. The bare and hilly slopes to the north of the town did not have good cover, and significant loss was incurred by the Cubans. This was especially effective given the difficulty in Cuban Logistics [hyperlink to the cuban missile bunker page] during the war. **Consequences** The Doom-Shroom Incident caused the complete reversal in the tides of the Santo Domingo front and reversed the flow of the war up until that point. Armed with maxim guns, the Dominicans were more easily able to repel assaults from the open waters to the south. The delay in combat caused by the wipe and subsequent regrouping of the Cubans allowed for further forces within the Dominican Republic to log on and demoralized the Cubans. This coupled with dwindling Cuban supplies within their under-water base and lack of adequate restocking set the tone for the war as it progressed and prevented the war from ending until its stalemate 3 [???] hours later.
