"Middle East" (i44)
“Middle East” Was an iteration that was launched on the 15th of August. Shilled and previously teased as a dedicated Middle East/Iran War server, effectively a more modern redux of i31, many members of the community have expressed confusion at what looks more like a Euro-centric server than anything else1). i44 will be the first /int/craft of 2026, and the first one in over a year since jeetcraft. i44 would host one of if not the worst pre iteration cycles of any iteration and be filled with a constant cycle of discord drama
Development
i44's development started as a merger of two separate projects in their infancy, being headed by Ghoul and Fedward respectively. Intended to originally be a modern day server set in the Middle East, lobbying by Fedward turned it into the current crop seen above. The development would be split with INSPECTOR_OF_EUNUCHS doing all plugin work and XC/Brewery configs being done by Fedward. Early development would go slow but without quarrel until the pre launch. i44's entire plugin suite was updated to 1.21.11, including nodes, xc, and xv. Other planned features, like town buffs and nerfs based on build quality or data centers, were scrapped due to community pushback. Nodes painting was handled by jammy_nutrient, and the map was done by Goaboa/Falklands, updating the Europe + MENA region of Stongduke's Earth map, which was previously used for i34 and i38. For the server itself, the nodes and xv plugins would be done by Wojcraft player Klipnok and Fedward would do the XC plugin. The iteration would be delayed by a week due to hosting issues.
Test Server
The iterations test server would be scheduled for August 1st. In a bipolar act by the Janitors on August 1st an announcement would be made that the test server would be delayed till August 2nd. Despite this announcement the test server would release on August 1st to a small delay. The test server would feature the classic /int/craft test server map with nodes war and a updated XC. Vehicles would not be present due to them being unready.
Launch
One week before launch Developer INSPECTOR_OF_EUNUCHS would be booted from the team due to unknown reasons likely related to his pursuit of explicitly non-/int/craft janitorial policies unpopular among the small portions of the /int/craft community still around. Fedward would also try to step down as head admin but maintain the role seeing a lack of any iteration as a worse outcome. He would hastily take over plugin development Updating Sabasko's XC to 1.21.11 with Claude and working on other additions. Leader launch would take place on August 14th with minor issues and Falklands would handle the whitelisting of players. Towns would need to be manually created by staff due to the Nodes Version being unfinished although it would be switched out by public launch. Leader launch would work despite numerous issues. Public launch would launch to minor hiccups and delays and PvP would be enabled late due to issues with the XC plugin. The first major bug of the iteration came with the CustomCrafting plugin making certain players invulnerable due to randomly doubling the armor value of certain gear. XV and Brewery were added late due to Fedward's preoccupation with making the server work. Pebblehost, i44s provider, would give roguelich and Fedward a broken server setting itself read-only mode at random times in the NA afternoon nighttime and being unable to be remotely restarted causing server to suffer over 30 hours of downtime during the first few days.
Politics
Most factions that played i43 played again, with the Wojcrafters of i40's AEMG and i43's Jaffna in Italy, remnants of Strykergang in Spain, Fedward in France, and Cyprus in Ukraine. Other groups that were absent from the last iteration returned as well, the most notable of these being the Civcrafters in Tunisia and Randemists in Crete. The Irish and Tunisian groups would be unable to play first war due to real life and other responsibilities preventing the iteration from reaching 150 players for war and leading to a one sided war.
Legacy
The iteration would leave a mixed legacy due to being was one of the most unstable iterations in recent time and as a result of Fedward's incompetency as Admin. The iteration would be despised among TaP players in the community and a few remaining /int/craft players left in the community. The small amount of positive reception would come from the Randemists who although seeing the iteration as poorly managed viewed it as a fun server that was still /int/craft at its core. Many of the issues with the iteration were a result of the departure of most /int/crafters in the years prior to 2025. Fedward himself and a few oldfags would consider it to have the worst community out of any iteration, considering the playerbase to be primarily of Crusalis rejects with a minority of actual 4chan users.
