==== New America map ==== ==== New America map ====

-The map for i40 was a custom crop of America made by Falklands and Superterribad. The nodes map was painted by Jammy_nutrient. Falklands hand painted all of the physical terrain, biomes,  and block textures, and Terri painted the trees and provided Falklands with various guides which were vital to the map's creation. Falklands had three primary reasons for wanting to create an entirely new America mapThe first reason: He is a vehement critic of [[stongduke]]'s /int/craft maps and finds them to be visually ugly and very poorly made (which they are). The second reason: The custom America map used in i39 was gigantic in scale, causing the majority of i39's players to find it very annoying to traverse despite its' beauty. The third reason: Literally no one knows how to make a good fucking world map on the internet. +The map for i40 was a custom crop of America made by Falklands and Superterribad. -Work began around early august 2024. With the blessings and advice of Viceroy and even [[ChienAndalou]], progress was steady. The map was made using an ultra high resolution topography height map, which was then flattened out to make way for more gameplay-friendly terrain. Falklands procrastinated much during October and November 2024, but began to once again tirelessly work on the map during December thanks to encouragement from Terribad. Around mid to late december, Falklands had completed the terrain and texturing, and handed the project over to Terri who painted the trees, foliage, and roads on the map. The map was fully completed very soon before the server launched as a result of Falklands' procrastination :^( but in the end it came out fine.+Work on the i40 map began around early august of 2024.  The map featured several landmarks and easter eggs similar to stongduke's earth. The largest of which was the Interstate highway system. Many of these were built just before the launch of the server. The map featured several landmarks and easter eggs similar to stongduke's earth. The largest of which was the Interstate highway system.
