A newfag, he travelled south from the spawn in Sinai and found his way at the southern tip of the Indian peninsula, where he founded the settlement of Ceylon. A small settlement, it was settled by a few players, of which pontifexmax was the only active member. Unremarkable in geopolitical affairs through the entirety of the server, it was initially a hermit town until it voluntarily became a dominion of the far-flung British Empire.

Having rediscovered /int/craft again years later, pontifexmax founded the city of Salvador with a friend. The town slowly grew, and was invited to join the nation of Brazil by LeiteArts10. Served in the Guarani Genocide precipitated by Brazil.

pontifexmax founded the city-state of Novgorod, which remained in obscurity up to the end of the sparse populated server.

pontifexmax played with Greece led by Gentlebud. He constructed the river fort of Thessaloniki which lay in the middle of the city. After Greece's incorporation into Monkeydonia, Thessaloniki was the target of multiple assaults and a final invasion which saw the fall of the city and rule shift over to Razzmus. Before its fall, pontifexmax escaped the city in a jet amongst a prolonged siege and smuggled the city's valuables to Italy, of where he became an exile. Fought in the Liberation of Skopje alongside other Monkeydonian exiles with NATO and Italian support.

Once again played with LeiteArts10 under his nation of Israel. Served as mayor in Haifa, the nation's secondary town. pontifexmax saw extensive action, fighting off multiple raids on Israel as well as fighting in the final Six Hour War, where Israel managed a successful defence after a marathon siege by the 5-nation Arab coalition.

Continuing his role as his right-hand man, pontifexmax played in the Netherlands led by LeiteArts10. pontifexmax was extensively involved in the development of the capital Amsterdam and contributed to the strategic direction of the faction. Served in the Dutch Invasion of France, the Allied Invasion of Italy, and in the Danish-Dutch War, which saw fighting primarily in Jutland and the Northern Lowland of Germany.

A spinoff server, pontifexmax played with Babylon led by TheSpookyBone. A ragtag group, the faction would resemble the beginnings of Spookybone's metagroup. pontifexmax built the Etemenanki Temple of Babylon. He served in the unsuccessful allied invasion of Troy, the Sack of Armenia, and the indecisive siege of Petra.

With i34 being highly anticipated, pontifexmax played again in Germany led by LeiteArts10. He built the city walls, some highrises, and the Berlin Art Museum. He saw extensive action, fighting on both fronts in the Great European War, fighting in the Siege of Frankfurt, the Liberation of Frankfurt, the Siege of Paris, the Siege of Vienna, and successfully defended Berlin through its multiple sieges and assaults.

pontifexmax played with the Takeda Clan led by altoids, and later in the Ashikaga Shogunate after the Takeda Clan's integration. Renowned as the Takeda Clan's strongest warrior and built Izu Castle.

After a successful run as the city-state of Kashgar in Epochcraft 3, he once again played with Voth in the Confederate States of America (CSA). His right hand man, pontifexmax was extensively involved in the planning and development of the CSA and its capital Atlanta.
