In Onion's gigantic discord server, he gave members of each prominent metagroup a role. 'Strykergang' was a popular vernacular term at the time because of the aforementioned memes, and was used as the role name, marking the (probably) earliest official usage of it. Before this, the group was commonly just refered to derivatives of Stryker, like "Strykerfags" or "Stryker's group".
